When the path twists beneath your feet, and the hope inside you dies.
Then the Vision is all you need, beneath the ruined, sky

In the shattered City of Lights on the broken world of Outlands, agents of the Circle gather. Their dilemma: to unlock the secrets of Fanaion's journal they must make use of arts sworn never to be used again.

But at what cost such a decision, and is the truth of the journal perhaps best left a secret?

By the light of a torn and ruined sky, far from Her light, a fateful decision must be made...

Gathering in the shattered City of Lights on the Broken World, the Silvereye met. There, despite angry protests from Nasheen and Natashy about taking such a step, the Keeper decided that this was the only way to obtain the information needed about the omonious "Great Work".

Sentallia, recently returned from her self-imposed exile to answer the gathering call to war spoke in support of the Keeper's concern, and the decision was made, and the Keeper despatched Lillyandra, Ashtear and Taladar to gain access to the Scryer Library, and find a spell that could reveal what was hidden in Fanaion's diary.

Nasheen raised the valid question of why the caravan Aldaron had attacked and looted had so few guards, believing it might be a trap. Advisor Lillyandra suggested that the lack of guards might be an indication that whomever was behind the convoys simply did not have huge numbers of troops, or perhaps wished to avoid attention. The question of whether some splinter group might be behind the convoys was raised, and caused some concern.

Entering the Scryer's Tier is fraught with danger. While Taladar's knowledge of the mores of the Scryers from his many infiltrations of Sindorei cities served to gain access to the libraries, Kaldorei are hardly welcome at the best of times amongst our fallen kin.

Once in, and amongst the books, the search began in earnest. Gingerly searching through tomes of foolish knowledge, and dangerous lore. But this was their path, and it must be followed to the end. But soon, Ashtear's sharp eyes spotted a tome relevant to their search, and the small group managed to slip out of the library with it, unnoticed.

Elsewhere, the Keeper was speaking with Erynia, formerly of the Circle. After some discussion of Erynia's feelings of being kept at a distance, indeed excluded from offering her help, the Keeper apologised for this, explaining that in such times of uncertainty and concern, that a tendancy toward being overprotective was a sad, but perhaps unavoidable, consequence. Old common feeling prevailed, though and she agreed to offer her help to the Circle.

Ashtear arrived with the book retrieved from the Scryer's Tier, in time to draw on Erynia's aid in breaking the cypher on the letter Aldaron had retrieved from the Sindorei patrol. What contents could be easily read were ominous indeed, written in Eredun, by Fanaion.

"Success. I have learned to change my appearance, to appear as either Kaldorei or Queldorei at will. The spell is so powerful that not even the sharp-eyed Sentinels, or the Silvermoon Guardians can penetrate it. The Great Work continues..."

With the urgency of their challenge brought so clearly home, Ashtear departed to begin preparations for the spell that might reveal the truth of Fanaion's Journal.
