Rumours on the streets are that the Vanguard order has disbanded itself. I had not yet time to check this out.

Rest in peace, Vanguard. Despite our differences, we still had good times together all in all.

(( No, no, that's another Vanguard. We're talking about this Vanguard Order. The other is the Theramore Vanguard, and that one is still alive and kicking.))

The following is found on a neatly folded paper, archived in the Temple in Darnassus. The script is clean, almost impersonal, as if from someone who is used to writing reports

Keeper, sisters, brothers,
having heard word about the Vanguard Order disbanding, I visited the human city of Stormwind and copied this information from a poster hanging near their Watch Office. Perhaps it will shed some light on the situation.

On the subject of The Vanguard Order, disbanding.

The Vanguard Order disbanded, officially, on the 16th day of the Third month.

To make sure there is no confusion as to why this happened, I, Trynian Goldhand, will provide extra information.

The Vanguards were a strong group of people. In their carreer as hunters of corruption (both foreign as domestic), they stood proudly next to their friends and sometimes family.

I feel that I leave behind a group of people worth noting down in history.

Over these last few months, the Vanguards were put under alot of pressure. They did their jobs, and fought on, dispite the many criticisms. Perhaps it is time to show, finally, what we've realised.
  • First arrest of a dangerous warlock named Donosan. This was the first official arrest the Order ever made.
  • Solved the Thelsamar slaughter. The perpetratours were indicated to the Watch, but no action was taken. Neither could the Vanguards handle in the arrest, at that time, as they held no authority in the case, being an individual Order.
  • Destroyed the Covenant of the Cursed. This with the allowance of the City Watch. They arrested many of their members, killed some in action. The Covenants were planning on terrorising the City of Stormwind. Alot of proof can be provided to show this.
  • Destroyed, eventually, the Lich King's Loyalities. However this did not require the same actions as the Covenant's, the Loyalities never had the chance to grow in the city.
  • Killed and neutralised several demons and tainted men. Many times, friends of these demons opposed to the Vanguard's interference.
  • Helped founding the Coalition of the Dawn, together with the Court Guard and Arcane Alliance
  • Stood against the riots formed against the City Watch.
  • Made several arrests on men of the Royal Templars, who were then, convicted as being rebels and murderers. Their names have been cleared now, by the City Watch.
  • Fought and defeated the Stormwind Separatists. Though many of these now claim they defeated the Vanguard Order, that is in no way the truth. Their leader, Ludowic, who I like to call Ludowic the Liquidator, is out on the blood of the leaders of the Vanguard Order, however, in battle he fled, unable to fight for his cause. This is a clear exemple of the cowardness and lack of honor of the man and those who follow him, as he dares only fight when not faced in battle anymore. Note how he calls out for more murder and execution, how he uses the people to gain what he always wanted: Be free to command and profit himself. He has no honor, nor does he deserve it.

I spoke, with Nasheen, to the once High Chancellor Trynian, in Menethil, this evening past.

It is sad to see such staunch defenders fall to the clamy hand of politics, for it was politics that doomed it.

And therin lies, though, a sage message that we should heed: we must remain true to our path, regardless of the machinations of others.
