This is a summary of the questions and issues that have been raised, and the various positions on it.

Q: "Silvereye will be going into hiatus", "the guild will become inactive and there will be no more planned events.", what does this mean exactly ?

A: This breaks down to an IC and an OOC part. OOCly this means that the guild as such will remain, but it won't be active as an IC organization. In practice this means that there will be no recruitment of any kind (including alts), nor will we be /g kicking everyone. We do however expect people to follow the guild rules, and people will be kicked if they are found speaking OOCly in /say or cybor in public channels for example.

Because it's not active as an IC organization, we ask that everyone who chooses to remain guilded respects this in their RP. No one has the IC authority to represent or act on behalf of the Circle.

If you want to keep playing an active Kaldorei character, you might find it more fun to look around for another Night Elf guild. Or maybe join forces with one another, find some more likeminded people, and start a new guild from scratch.

Q: What will happen to the www.silvereye.dk website, and the forums ?

A: The cost of maintaining the website and the forums is negligible. For the time being I will keep them up, though I will edit the website to reflect the guild's current status. The forums may also be rearranged a little to fit the new structure, and function. I will continue to moderate it, but reserve the right to close things down, if necessary. (See also my final answer)

However, if there are stories or other posts you really do not want to lose, it would be a good idea to keep a copy of those elsewhere (on a website of your own, in a file on your local harddrive, or perhaps in a GMail or Google Docs account ).

Q: Is everyone leaving WoW ?

A: No, not all the officers are leaving WoW.
Taiev: I have invested myself a great deal in Silvereye over the years, and the decision to leave is one I have taken with a heavy heart. Not just because of the guild, but also because of the people. But, sadly, WoW no longer excites me the way it used to. I may be back at some point to look around, or peek in now and then, but that is for the future, which is a foreign land.

I will stay around on the IRC channel for the foreseable future, if anyone wishes to talk.

Lillyandra/Shalisa has felt uninspired by this game for some time. She will keep playing for the PvE aspect of the game, and will only RP very casually. She will instead focus her RP somewhere else.

Gilthas / Taladar / Mynarath is keeping his account active, and expects to peek into WoW on a semi-regular basis. However, he too is somewhat tired of the game at the moment, and thinks a break is in order. He probably will be back for Wrath of the Lich King.

Q: Do you (the officers) blame us (the members) for not being active enough ? Not being around enough ? Not roleplaying enough ?

A: There is blame aplently, on all sides. The guild has been through rough patches before, and come through, basically thanks to hard work by the officers. This time, though, we cannot muster the energy to shoulder that again. And after substantial discussions about this issue we decided on this course of action as being the one that we are most happy with.

Q: Are you running / rushing the Endgame event because of this decision ?

A: The decision to lay the SE to rest was not made overnight nor was it made lightly. In fact, it's something both Taiev and the officers have been discussing for a considerable amount of time, which is also why the decision is this definite.

Because it has taken so long to reach the decision, Endgame planning has not been effected in any way by it. The only thing that has effected it, have been the actions of the participants wink.gif . The event planners care too much for the storyline to let it be effected by this.

Q: I have some friends / found some people who would fit in perfectly, can they join the Silvereye ?

A: That's nice to hear but sorry, we're not interested. See the answer below for further details.

Q: But, but.. Silvereye is my home, what should I do now ? I want to keep it alive ! What can I do ?

A: I do not wish to actively lead the SE, nor do any of the officers, who would be the most logical choice to take my place. But regardless of that, the officers would inevitably give their own spin to the SE, and the same goes for the members. Put simply, I to have a say over the final legacy of the SE as it is, and seeing how much work I have put into it the last 3 years, I will exercise that prerogative now.

This will not prevent you from RPing as always, or keeping the tag. But there will be no more "official" events, or recruitment. The guild will be in a state in terms of story that you can use to spark RP - but you will need to attend EndGame to see how that goes.

To be clear, the decision we as officers have taken is final.

if there is a strong wish to start something new, then we suggest you get together and take a shot at starting something up.

Q. Will you be making this announcement any more public than this site? Despite the way reputation has gone up and down over the years, I feel the AD community would like to be informed of the essential disbanding of an institution.

A. I will, following Endgame.
