The first light of morning began to creep through the trees, dawn breaking across Ashenvale. The subtle sounds of the forest began their slow change from night to day, in response to the warming promise of a new day.

At the end of a winding, overgrown path lay a quiet grove, all but forgotten by the world around it. A private and secret place, for a private and secret ritual.

Taiev slipped her robe from her shoulders, the long silk garmet pooling around her feet like a patch of midnight in the faint morning light. The chill pre-dawn air raised goosebumps across her naked skin as she stepped up onto a marble plinth and knelt. In one long fingered hand she held a simple silver mirror... It was an ancient thing, plain yet beautifully made.

As the light crept across the plinth, she laid the mirror on the stone and closed her eyes, summoning the ancient phrases to mind as she did so.

She had put this off for far too long...
