Keeper,

yesterday we attempted to perform a scouting run of the Horde outpost Splintertree...

I will keep things concise and to the point:

- Sisters Aludra, Arydia, Acrona, Nirati, Niviel and brother Gilthas (myself as well) gathered in Astranaar. This is where I told them the reason behind scouting this outpost (it was due to the attack Charisa survived for those unaware).

- We moved east of Astranaar whilst being pestered by some glory hunting round-ears, we kept to the road as far as possible until we neared the post itself.

- As we arrived we realised the Horde were prepared, a force of some twenty charged into us before we could ready ourselves causing us to withdraw and rethink tactics.

- It was at this point we noticed that a number of round-ears were attacking the outpost itself so we moved alongside them driving the defenders back inot the post itself. This battle raged for some time the Horde's legendary tenacity meaning they did not give ground easily.

- As the dust settled the other sisters regrouped, I pursued a Taureen into a set of well used caves at the back of the post. After informing the others of my discovery we deemed it worthy of further investigation.

- Advancing cautiously into the caves we each investigated everything we could and found a rather disturbing scene. A set of Kaldorei bones, no more than a few weeks old, according to Sister Niviel it looks like they had been eaten.

- During this time the Horde had regrouped and sprung an ambush in the caves leading to a desperate struggle for our escape. We somehow managed it and returned to Astranaar.

I would ask all those present to give their own accounting of what happened.

From my perspective this scouting were both fortunate and devastating.

First I must thank Arrina for her initiative to lead this small force of our circle, she managed to keep a staedy head, when confusion were at its most.

This scouting, and this fight, showed me that we clearly need much training. Not in our seperate skills but as ONE force. We kaldorei have a proud tradition for using our wits instead of our muscles. We need orginasation on the field of battle. We need branch-leaders in the fights. Someone who knows the enemy and the way of war. Someone who realizes our strengths and our flaws. Both me and Taiev have suffered many battles, yet I know that there are others amongst us who knows the way of war, and the simple battle. I will seek out Warden Sentalla to discuss this further myself.

As for the matter of the bones we encountered in the back of the cave.. I must admit that I fear some or maybe all of them were elven. I here draw on my sences and not the structures of the bones themselves. If I had to guess, I would say that it could only be the trolls and maybe the Undead that could have done this. I can only imagine what might have happened to Sentinel Charisa if they had managed to get their hands on her.

This calls for further investigation, and I can imagine that another direct assult on the outpost will take place. These intruders have not seen the last of us.

I salute all who took part in this with deep respect. This is one of the fundamental things our circle should act on.

I would also agree that several of the collections of bones were Orcish in origin, the sloping forheads, pulled back jawlines and large ribcages being the most evident points. I would agree we need to work better as a group, as several of us, including myself, recieved some injuries which may have been avoided, as well as the entire battle in fact. However, we completed our task in the end, and I'd like to sing praise to Arrina for that sharp rescue in the middle of Ashenvale.

There is little further to add to the points already made, though I would point out that the caves of which Arrina speaks also contained a number of empty supply crates. This suggests to me that, while these Horde encroachers do inded have a supply line to Splintertree Post, the shipments are few and far between. Perhaps we can find a way to cut them off altogether.
