Hi friends,
Following the idea of quests I'd like to propose you a macro-mission that can be useful also for future event planning.
I'd love to have a better view on how is Azeroth from the Silvereye point of view, which are our borders and our refuges and so.
Mapping Azeroth means creating maps on how we Silvereye can consider the various zones of the land. We can divide it into 3 degrees like how Blizzard did ( Friendly Contested Hostile ) or refine it more using 4 or 5 degrees.
Each Quarter can create maps on their own sector of competence.
As an example:
Quarter of the Hunt: locate dangerous zones (controlled by monsters) [mainly PvE: Dragons, Silithids, Nagas, Demons
]
Quarter of the War: locate dangerous zones (controlled by other factions) [PvE: Goblins, Black Iron Dwarven
but mainly PvP: Horde] and friendly zones (controlled by friendly or neutral factions)
Quarter of the Wild: locate corrupted zones (where Nature has been tainted) and havens (where Nature is intact and pure)
Quarter of the Moon: locate zones of Shadow (of undead and Shadow energy) and Holy Grounds (where we can hold rituals)
At the end of the Mapping we will have a map (or several overlapping maps) on how is the situation on Azeroth from our point of view and we could modify our RP on it:
No logout or resting (if at all possible) on Hostile lands
No campfire chitchat on Hostile or Contested territory
No fire lighten at all on Hostile lands
No discussion on Silvereye strategy in Contested or Hostile lands
On Contested land we keep at least a weapon ready and visible
Scout missions will be done on Contested Lands
Assault missions on Hostile Lands
Sentinels of
in Friendly Lands or Borders
and so on
I think that a mapping like this will give us a better feeling on the Silvereye perspective of the world that can be better than the usual this is a low level region we can kill the mobs and chat till the respawn.
Going even further Id like that these maps will become dynamic and change (a lot) over time. Our quests, missions and events, can change the equilibrium of the world so a small escort mission can change a little the border with a neutral faction, while a great assault event can greatly modify the status of a region (from Hostile to Friendly/Controlled).
Obviously actions of the Enemy will influence too.
The maps can be created in Photoshop and published on the Forums for all to know.
with some help from Taiev we could also have some Flash maps showing our growing over time.
Well
my 2 coppers.
