Keeper, as per your orders, yesterday I organized a search of the desert of Silithus for any signs of Twilight Cultist activity. I took the liberty of requesting aid from the circle, and joining me were sister Arydia (Who seems to be back to her old self now!), the new watcher Narvinyë and later also brother Gilthas.
The first camp we located was actualy very close to the Cenarion Hold. South-west of it to be exact, it is almost visible over the dunes when you leave the Hold and shouldn't be hard to find. Due to its closeness to the Hold it is heavily fortified, some 40 cultists atleast I believe. Mostly humans, dwarfs and orcs, but also a gnome or two. Their leader seemed to be a big brutish orc.
The camp is situated on a small dais in the desert. Some seven tents filled with supply crates are scattered around its circumference. In the center of the dais is a raised section with a huge floating crystal which some of the cultists dressed all in black seemed to be channeling some kind of energy into. Also scattered around the camp was two lesser windstones one "normal" windstone and a large one.
The majority of the cultists seemed to be warriors, with some magic wielders and "scientists" mixed in. Also, the channelers at the big floating crystals seemed to be exclusively magic wielders or summoners.
Using a technique the druids at the Cenarion Hold taught me, we were able to access two of the smaller wind stones, and lure two lesser elementals there, which we promptly disposed of. According to the druids at the Hold, the windstones are used by the cultist to communicate with something they call the Abyssal Council. I have yet to discover what this Abyssal Council is, but I do know that the smaller windstones are used to call forth small elementals, "templars" I believe they are called. The slightly larger windstones are used to call forth what is known as "dukes" of the council. Using an experimental technique we were also able to call forth one of these and defeat it. It was some form of hydra I belive. I guess the larger wind stones can be used to call forth even greater beasts from this Abyssal Council, but so far the druids at the Hold have not informed me of how this could be carried out. I guess they are keeping their secrets close until they know we can be trusted.
Unfortunately, after scouting this first camp, I had to depart for a Vanguard mission inside the ruins to the south. Acording to what I've heard there should be more camps in the desert, so Arydia, Gilthas and Narvinyë continued the search. Hopefully Narvinyë will provide you with a report of the southern part of the desert later today and Gilthas will provide a report on any findings to the north.
Sincerely
