Now, I have no idea where to put this, but one comes across little writings from time to time that are of interest. While Elune as a religion is somewhat.. difficult to understand, I've tried to modify or create some prayers that might be useful, somehow. Now, Elune worship might not exactly be the most cerimonious kind, but still.. smile.gif

General prayer

Elune, Bringer of Life Renewed.
Grant us the power of fertility,
so that we can bring new life to the world,
so that your peace may come.

Elune, Lady of Truth.
Guide us so that we can find your truth,
as we guide the wanderer who is lost,
so that your peace may come.

Elune, everliving mother of White Virtue.
Forgive us and help us when we falter,
and strengthen us to help others who fail,
so that your peace may come.

Elune, Guardian of the Kaldorei
Help us in times of weakness,
as we help the weak in our path,
so that your peace may come.

Elune, Lady of Honest Love.
Accept our true and honest love,
as we accept those who truly love us,
so that your peace may come.

A battle prayer.

Protect me Elune, with will and shield and blade.
Give me the strength to meet the foe,
be it famine or fear,
be it brigand or beast,
be it hardship or hunger.
Through your grace, we shall overcome.

Another battle prayer

O Lady of Everlasting moonlight, Knower of Truth,
we call upon You to lend us Your aid.
Where our strenth is weak and fails,
you are the vigour of all things.
Where others cannot,
you are most able.
Where none can go unharmed,
you walk untouched
Where mortals walk in confusion and deceit,
you understand all secrets.

Bless us, Elune.
Grant strength to the arm that wields a blade in your name,
and death to those it touches.

Thanksgiving

When we taste the fruits of the earth, we are reminded of the life bringing Elune.

When we hear the wind or look at the evening star, we are reminded of the healing powers of Elune.

When we look at the moon or feel the drops of rain, we remember the truthfulness of Elune.

Whether we face east, south, west or north, we always face Elune.

Whether we look at the earth, the sun, the evening star or the moon, we think of the Goddess.

A prayer for meetings

Let the Lady of moonlight shine her light amongst us for the period of the moot(meeting?),
that those who speak at this gathering will speak the truth
And that the decisions made here will have the blessings of Elune.
Be all who are here gathered warned that Elune sees all and knows all.
Oh Lady of the knowable and unknowable, disperse the clouds that confuse us.
Grant unto us the ability to see the truth and let not falsehood enter this place.

Nice initiative Aela! Think I might add some of my own when I get home...

Elune worship dates back so incredibly far, that I do not find it unlikely that there once was a period where worship was very formal. Blizz has given us zero examples of prayers (as far as I know anyway) and now states that worship of Elune is spiritual and personal. This opens a wide variety of possibilities for us priests smile.gif

That said, I think this might fit best in the Path of the Moon section. *hauls thread to the other side of the fence*

while the worhsip of elune isnt very formal in itself pre war of the ancients the nobles would have the sisterhood hold ceremonies to celebrate various anniversaries and events.

Starianna's prayer for the Farhal Moonrise, performed at the shores of Auberdine:

Long warm days...
The pace of life slows...
A time for picnics and rest in the shade...
Mother Moon,
help me to rest awhile in the cooling shade of your presence.
Slow down my restless heart and fill me with gentle compassion for all your people.

All of creation in this part of the earth has been busy this day growing to maturity. Have I been in concert with them in my efforts to grow in patience, hope and faith? I pause in this prayer to reflect upon my activities this day.... I thank you, O Goddess, for the opportunities that you have placed on my sacred path this day to grow in maturity of heart and spirit. I thank you for the times that took me to the limit in my efforts to love and to serve. Wrapped in gratitude as clothing for my sleep, I rest in you.
I bow before you, Divine Mother Moon, Elune,
Eternal Source of my existence.
Your heart is my home,
from you I have come
and to you I journey this night.

Personal prayer (ICly, a very old one I might add tongue.gif)
Oh great Goddess, Gem of the night sky, Beloved Goddess, Elune.

Open my spirit to awareness,
Fill my heart with understanding,
May my life be of service to the Goddess

Open my eyes to life's many wonders,
Make me a beacon for those who cannot see,
May I feel the pulse of all creation within me

Open my mouth to recite hymns,
Fill them with inaudible joy,
May all who hear it be appeased, a Dusksinger praises the Goddess once more

Open my ears to the needs of those around me,
Make my hands strong and gentle in Your service,
And may I remember always, that the Goddess works through me

Battle prayer
Night Warrior, Beloved Goddess, Elune.
Hear the words of Your loyal servant, for Your children go to battle.

Guide our hands, so we may kill them swiftly.
Guide our minds, so our decisions are just.

May we leave this wretched place alive, to see those for whom we fight once more.
Elune, if it is Your will, let it be so.

Prayer for the sick
Mother Moon, Beloved Goddess, Elune.
Hear the words of your loyal servant, for one of Your children has fallen ill.

Grant her/him strength, so she/he may endure the pain,
Grant her/him peace of mind, so her/his dreams are peaceful.

May Your healing Lights shine upon her/him, so she/he may do Your bidding once more.
Elune, if it is Your will, let it be so.

Moonrise prayers
Hear us, Goddess divine, diffusing silver light,
Wand'ring thro' the gloom of Night.
With Stars surrounded, and with circuit wide
Night's torch extending, thro' the heav'ns you ride:
Mother Moon, Night Warrior with divine rays you shine,
And now full-orb'd, now tending to decline,
Lover of vigilance, the foe of strife,
In peace rejoicing, and a prudent life:
Queen of the stars, all-wise Elune, hail!
Deck'd with a graceful robe and shining veil;
Come, blessed Goddess, prudent, starry, bright,
come White Lady, with splendid light,
Shine on these gathered souls with prosp'rous rays,
And please accept thy suppliant's veracious praise.

The night is upon us
The sky is clear
We call upon the Goddess
and know She is near

Children of the Goddess gather
Souls as humble as the Stars
Dancing circles through time
Chanting to the quarters
Remembering an earlier time

Our spirits find their way
As to the Goddess we pray
Many roads are followed
Some hidden, some clear
But Her guidance is always here

Children of the Goddess gather
Souls as humble as the Stars
Dancing circles through time
Chanting to the quarters
Remembering an earlier time (meh, I don't really like this one that much anymore...)
