Keeper, members of the Circle of the Silvereye,

I write you this report to inform you all of what happened on the tenth of Norothil during and shortly after the trial of Nimdas of Darune. I know not all of you are familiar with this case, so I will try to be as complete as possible. If any questions remain after reading this, feel free to contact me.

A few days ago, the Keeper was asked by Arch warden Grok’Sjin of Loreth Aran of the Wardens of the Moon to precede over the trial Nimdas of Darune in the Temple of the Moon. As Taiev was otherwise engaged, she send the Advisors Gilthas Moonshadow and myself, Lillyandra Lightningvale to judge in her stead.

Grok’Sjin of Loreth Aran acted as prosecutor in this case. He charged Nimdas of Darune with the following;
  • Crimes against Teldrassil,
  • Attacking an Overseer, Captain and Warden
  • Hiring of an assassin
  • Disturbing the nature of the capital
  • Treachery of the ranks
For these crimes, he demanded Nimdas of Darune to receive the death penalty.

I will not enclose the details of what was said between the parties, as it is of little reference to this report. I would like to note that there was a lot of hostility between both parties during the trial. The suspect threw a knife at the prosecutor, evidently meaning to cause him bodily harm. One of the Wardens of the Moon who acted as a guard during the trial, was also seen inflicting unnecessary bodily harm to the suspect, under the pretense of constraining him.

While questioning the suspect and a witness, the suspect claimed that the hiring of an assassin, as well as the attacks on the Overseer and subsequently the Captain and Warden, was all due to an agreement between himself and Keilara Moonfall, involving the capturing of a certain warlock. We believe that no matter what was agreed between Keilara and the suspect, he still holds full responsibility for his actions. However, at the time, we could not prove nor deny Keilara’s involvement in the alleged crimes. Because of this, Gilthas and I decided that we would be unfit to give judgment in this case, seeing as the circumstance could lead to outsiders perceiving our ruling as biased and/or partial. Even though this is of course not the case, the severity of both actions and requested punishment made us decide the very appearance of being biased and/or partial is not desired and would undermine the validity of the ruling.

Having come to this decision, we explained this to those present. We informed them we will not judge Nimdas of Darune, but that a different and impartial judge would need to be found. We also told them that the suspect would have to be detained until that day, as there were obvious signs of hostile behavior and we believe he would be a threat to the prosecutor and the witness, as well as to ensure his own safety.

The prosecutor did not agree with this. He proclaimed that he would take justice into his own hands and attacked the suspect on the spot, in the Temple of the Moon, on Her most sacred ground. Despite the best efforts of both myself, Priestess Ainusil as well as the prosecutors superior, Overseer Elladar of the Wardens of the Moon, he was able to attack Nimdas of Darune. For this attack he used a claw, and cut the suspects throat. Though I was not able to tell the time of death precisely due to my location, I was able to establish that he died immediately or very shortly after sustaining this wound.

Having witnessed this most heinous crime, Gilthas sentenced him to be banished indefinitely from all Kaldorei lands, giving him until the next full moon to leave. Starting from the next full moon, I request all members to be on the lookout for the man known as Arch Warden Grok’Sjin of Loreth Aran of the Wardens of the Moon when traveling through Kaldorei lands. For now, you are to report to the Keeper or the Advisors when seeing this man on Kaldorei soil and not take any direct action against him.

That will be all.
