The roar of the sea against the coast of Darkshore failed to thrill her spirits as it usually did as the ship from Rutheran laid into the quay at Auberdine.

Taiev slung her backpack over her shoulder and slunk off the ship with Wolf at her heels. His tail hung between his legs, and his ears were flat against his head. He could feel the despair and dejection in Taiev's soul, and although he could not understand it, he knew the pain was killing her...

Taiev walked down the boardwalk into Auberdine, outwardly as calm and tranquil as she had been all that long evening. But within her, a thousand raging thoughts warred. She had stood before her sisters for judgement... judgement for a deed proscribed by Kaldorei culture, but forced on her by Niviel's fateful decision.

She had sworn to them her deepest, most heartfelt desire to turn aside from the path of the arcane and the daemonic... Not for the first time, she cursed the twist of fate that had laid that burden on her in the first place.

Better to have perished in the sundering that to have been given such a harsh burden to bear.

Better to have fallen to Illidan's blade than to live with such forbidden knowledge.

Better to have died at Hyjal, than to stand in humiliating supplication to her Sisters.

Taiev stopped up and closed her eyes, remembering a simpler time so very long ago... a bitter smile played across her lips. Nothing to be done... she was no oathbreaker... She would bear the burden with all her strength as she had always done. And if she must finally fail, she would do so fighting to the last... and spit her hatred in Kil'Jaden´s eye with her last breath.
