The various events that we run are part of the charm of the Silvereye. Up to now, most of the big events have been run by a few members, so I though it might be about time to start discussing how to start, organise and run an event, so that more people can get involved.

--- Planning Events ---
Set clear objectives for the event:- What do you have to do?
    - How does the event end?
    - How do you win, how do you lose?

    Think about details
Keep it realistic: Dont create an event that is waaaay too massive
Who is involved, how do they have fun? Everyone involved must have a positive experience, or they won't want to be involved again. This is especially the case when doing PvP events.

For example: the Wetlands event was not much fun for the Onyx AScendancy because they got Zerged all the time. The Hostage event was fun, because they refrained from doing the same.

    Advertise it:
Use these forums, and the Community forums at Grinning Hermit to get a hold of the people you want to be involved. Post clear rules, and make sure everyone understands them.
    - Ask an officer to change the MotD
    - Talk about it IC and OOC on /G
    - Do ask me to do a banner or something for the event (or do one yourself)
--- Running Events ---
    - Use /w and /ra if necessary to arrange things
    - Stick to the plan
    - Be flexible when things go wrong.
--- General Points ---
    - Keep doing it: the next event is always better... no matter how many you have run.
    - Remember the fifth act: give people time to "land" after the event. This can take up to an hour - so think this in when you set a time frame for the event.
